ok i’m now back in sub chapter 16-4 “relativistic mass” in Feynman.
in the “How to Listen to and Understand Great Music” we finished lecture 14.
in “Learn & Master Piano” we finished video 13 session 7.
also i read today almost 5 chapters (they are very short) in Einstein’s popular book “Albert Einstein – Relativity The Special and General Theory”. i do read this because i want to read the letters where Alan Turing explained this book to his mother 🙂
(you need to run Adobe Flash to read this enlarged)
so last time i reached subchapter 16-4, but i don’t remember anything, so i’ll start over chapter 16.
i’m still watching music courses with my mom, so we finished watching the course: “Understanding the Fundamentals of Music” by TTC, and now we are watching: “How to Listen to and Understand Great Music” also by TTC. last time we finished lecture 9 so we are now in lecture 10.
in the course of “Learn & Master Piano” by Will Barrow we finished video 8 which is workshop 4. but again we take long “breaks” between the videos. i made cardboard “flashcards” with the note’s symbol on one side and the note’s name on the other side. but we are too lazy for memorizing these too 😀 i really hope one way or another we will continue with that excellent course.
a little good news: i finished my “Little Lab of Horrors” musical!
i originally planned to this with Shira who is a professional singing and piano teacher, but then the whole Corona Virus thing started with the quarantine, so i’m with my parents and i can’t meet people. so i recorded all the songs myself – for the electric guitar i copied the chords from Alan Menken’s official booklet for “Little Shop of Horrors” and for the bass guitar i watched in Youtube videos by C.M. Willett – many thanks!
to my shame again tons of time, like a whole month that i didn’t do anything in physics! i did other things like recording for my musical to save humanity from CRISPR Cas and “gene drives”, and like inventing solutions for earthquakes and EMP and solar flare, but i really neglected Feynman, so now i’m in sub chapter 15-4 which is titled “Transformation of Time”.
in listening to lectures with my mom we also rarely dedicate the time to sit, so we now finished lecture 12 in “fundamentals of music”, and finished lecture 4 in “understanding art” and finished video 6 (workshop 3) in “learn and master piano”. so i should really move my ass. 😳
long time no see! i didn’t progress in physics, but i did other things. but i did watch all the YouTube videos that prepared me for 15-3. i think in “The Mechanical Universe” it’s lecture 41, but i also watched the previous and the next because it was really nice.
in the arts department, i’m doing things with my mom, so we’re watching The Teaching Company courses, one is called “Understanding the Fundamentals of Music” where we finished lecture 9, and another course which is called: “How to Look at and Understand Great Art” which we finished lecture 3. also we are learning to play piano with the video course: “Learn & Master Piano” with Will Barrow! where we finished session 1. like Ruby Rhod from “The Fifth Element” would say: super green!
also more importantly, i made a very friendly version of my “automatic virus vaccine” that could help CoronaVirus (and many other viruses), but i’m saying could and not can, because no one takes it seriously!
nobody shared it, only 4 people gave me “like”, 2 of them were from my family who were just being nice, and the other 2: one looks like a fake Facebook account, and the other one is a nice woman from the Philippines who is the only person in the world who actually thought it’s a good idea.
i was a little hopeful when Prof. Peter Doherty who is a Nobel Prize laureate replied on Twitter, but from what he wrote he didn’t understand my suggestion:
“Great you’re thinking about this. Problem isn’t getting a vaccine product to test. We’ve got lots of different technologies for doing that, including the vector and mutational strategies you mention, and some are already in animals or people. Problem is safety & efficacy testing.”
i will explain what Prof. Doherty means: vector is when scientists take the “hat” (what they think is recognizable by our immune system) and put it on another (non lethal) virus. if the “hat” changes then the whole vaccine is useless! also isolating the “hat” takes expertise and can’t be automated. but i didn’t want to insult the only expert who took the time to write back to me (and at least watched my video explanation), so i tweeted back so:
“Dear Prof. thank you very much for your kind response! now each lab works on their own vaccine (choose arbitrary pieces of pathogen) and has to test alone. my method is systematical so we can standardize and distribute work globally between many labs (like human genome project).”
my dad says that all these companies don’t want to join efforts, each of these commercial private companies wants to make a commercial product and sell it and get money. it’s amazing to me that in the middle of a global crisis people still only think about themselves and getting more and more money! 😥
anyway i’m also planning to record the songs of my “Little Lab of Horrors” musical for my Neo-Luddism website, and also to start gathering inventions for a sequel to my book “The Official Guide to Saving the World”, so i’m busy with lots of stuff 😎
i reached sub-chapter 15-3 “Michelson–Morley experiment” and i want to understand what i’m reading (and the complicated illustration) so i will first watch “Intro to Special Relativity Course” in the “minutephysics” youtube channel:
and then i will watch “The Mechanical Universe” episode 41: “The Michelson morley Experiment” in “Caltech” youtube channel.
